Location: 4342 NE Antioch Road Kansas City, Missouri 64117

The Imam should have the following qualifications:

 1. Should hold and follow the thoughts and teachings of Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah

 2. Must have a diverse Islamic Studies background and certifications which may include recognized Islamic institutions and other traditional methods.

 3. Adequate knowledge of fiqh to teach and counsel the community on matters of fiqh. This should include general awareness of the differences of opinions and practices among different schools of fiqh.

 4. Memorized major portion of the Quran to lead jamu’ah prayers, preferably a Hafidh but not a prerequisite. 

 5. Have a mastery of Tajweed rules to ensure correct recitation of the Qur’an and be able to instruct other in this area of Quran Sciences. 

 6. Effective Arabic and English communication skills.

 7. Must hold Integrity, Islamic manners, and high moral standards.

 8. Experience with introducing Islam to people of other faiths via formal or informal Da’wah. 

 9. Experience with family and youth counseling in an Islamic setting/environment.

 10. Proficient and motivational in delivering Jumu’ah Khutbah.

 11. Understands perspectives and challenges of Muslims in America.

 12. Must be willing and ready to take the initiative and possess the vision to lead the community spiritually. 

 13. Imam is expected to be punctual, assertive, a team player, and work continuously on his professional development and public speaking skills.

Desirable qualifications:

 1. Previous experience working in Islamic Establishments, both in teaching and administration/leadership roles.

 2. Experience with conflict prevention and resolution.

 3. Ability to represent the Muslim community in public forums.

 4. Experience with conducting workshops and seminars.

Salary: The compensation package is competitive and depends on qualifications and experience.
