The Muslim Institute began teaching students in June 2021 and our main objective is to teach our students Arabic so they can read the Quran fluently while also comprehending the words of Allah. This includes teaching our students how to properly pronounce Arabic letters, the points of articulation (Makhaarij), and the rules of Tajweed. Our goal is for all students to have a proper recitation of the Quran. We wish to plant the seed of love for the Quran in all of our student’s hearts. We plan to do this through hard work, dedication, and consistency. 

Our Vision

COURSE OVERVIEW

Level 1

course description

Students will be taught the basics of the Arabic language. Upon completion of this course students will be proficient in recognition, pronunciation, and writing the Arabic alphabet.

Level 2

Students will master their pronunciation and perfect their writing. At this stage, they will begin to start connecting simple 2-4 letter words. Students will build on their reading skills and Arabic alphabet rules.

Level 3

Students will learn to apply their proficiency in reading via Tajweed rules and we will continue working on reading skills. At this stage, students are expected to read the Quran on their own.

Quran and Tafsir

Thobe for boys

Free from any pictures or faces and should be ankle length or shorter.

Abaya for girls

Free from any pictures or faces and should be an appropriate size.

Students ages 8+ will be held accountable for their behavior and are expected to follow the rules & regulations of Muslim Institute.

Students less than ages 8 will not be held to the same expectations as the older students nor will they face the same consequences. Their parents will be contacted when situations occur that need to be addressed.

Listed below are actions of the student that may result in them receiving a:

a) warning

b) meeting with parents

c) suspension

1. Absent for 2 or more days without an excuse or reason will result in the student being given a warning. If the student falls ill or must go on a sudden trip or other family related matters, the parents MUST call school prior and notify the office of the student’s absence.

2. Arriving more than 15 mins late 3 times will result in a warning.

3. Not wearing school uniform, incompletion of homework, or missing books and classroom tools on 2 consecutive occasions will result in a warning.

4. Disrespect in the form of insults and argumentation with the admin, teachers and more specifically the student’s own teacher will result in a warning. If this behavior continues, a meeting will be had with the students’ parents to discuss the behavior. As a last resort, if the student’s poor behavior persists, they will be suspended for an agreed number of days.

5. Physical altercations of any sort, whether with fellow students, school staff or any teachers will result in immediate suspension. Discussion will be had about the incident, and further decisions may be made depending on severity of the situation.

Listed below are the actions of the parent that may result in a student’s expulsion/termination:

1. Fighting (verbal or physical) with the school administration or teachers.

2. If the parent is found lying or slandering the school.

3. The school tuition is not paid for more than a month.

4. The parent does not partake in the parent/teacher conferences and other Muslim Institute related meetings 2 times or more
